Perhaps The Soulful Blogger's most famous (or notorious) entry, "God is Gay," was made on Friday, November 28. I wrote at that time:
God made some men gay, because He made them in His image. God made gay men to love in gay ways, because God loves in gay ways. The beauty of gay men reflects the beauty of God. The beauty of gay ways of loving reflects the beauty of God's gay ways of loving. When someone fears and hates a gay man, he or she fears and hates God. When someone denegrates, despises, loathes, and harms a gay man, he or she denegrates, despises, loathes, and harms God.
In [my upcoming book tentatively entitled] Soulfully Gay, I describe how I came to understand over the course of the past year my faith in God and my conviction that the fact of God's "gayness" provides insights of universal spiritual truth. God is Love ... and Love flows in two directions: from God to Creation (an infusion of Love directed inward or towards the same, called Agape or homophilia) and from Creation to God (an outpouring of Love from same to Other, called Eros or heterophilia).
Keeping a weblog of my spiritual journey for a year has been a fantastic experience. I highly recommend blogging as a spiritual practice!
To readers of Gay Spirituality & Culture: I intend to continue my blogging here, and plan to continue to post future editions of Soulfully Gay column right here. I'm not going anywhere.
