The blog was founded in January 2004 as Gay Spirituality & Culture in order to support a common vision of helping to create a shift in gay and queer culture towards greater self-love, wisdom, social justice, and healthy and sacred ways of living. We recognize the importance of supporting caring and compassionate forms of community that honor our diversity, individuality, and unique gifts as spiritual beings.

Who We Are

The content on the Blog is supplied by LGBT-affirming spiritual resource providers registered at

Freedom of Expression

We respect the freedom of expression of our contributing writers (including the commenters on our blog) and we support each other in our diverse and individual styles for expanding the conversation about Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender spirituality, religion, and culture. We come from distinct philosophical and religious orientations; however, we are collaborating at where we can each reach a wider audience and work together to help expand the conversation about what it means to be Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or queer.

Some of us focus our attention on creating inner transformation and new spiritual alternatives in our own lives and communities. Others focus on creating greater inclusion of and justice for LGBT people in their religious organizations and society at large.

We need readers who are willing to become more active participants in conversations on this blog. "If you build it, they will come." We're hoping that if we continue to make the Blog a fresh, informative, and fun place to visit that you'll comment... come back... tell your friends... add links... and (just maybe) join!!
